ENROLMENT 

Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at our secondary school.  The following is important information for our Year 7 2025 enrolment intake.  For all other year levels please contact the school office -  4783 2366

Year 7 2025 Enrolment Applications open at the beginning of Term 2, 2024 and applications are due by 21 June 2024.

Enrolment interviews commence in Term 3.

Year 5 and 6 Taster Day

The Year 5 and 6 Taster Day will be held on Wednesday May 1, 2024.  The Year 5 and 6 Taster Day is an opportunity for students to sample life at Burdekin Catholic High School.  All Year 5 and 6 students in the Burdekin Region are invited to attend if they are considering BCHS as their school of choice in 2025.  If your child does not attend St Francis or St Colman's, please contact the school office to register your interest.

Twilight Open Evening

The Twilight Open Evening will be held on Thursday May 16, 2024 4pm - 6.30pm.

Enrolment packages can be obtained from the school office at any time. 

  • Parents need to fill out an Application for Enrolment form and return this to the school office.  Alternatively, you may complete an online enrolment application https://www.bchs.catholic.edu.au/enrolment/enrolment-information/online-enrolment-enquiry/
  • All potential students and families will be invited to an interview.
  • Parents need to ring the school office to make an interview appointment.
  • Following interviews, an offer of enrolment may be made. 
  • Parents then need to respond to the offer by accepting enrolment.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Burdekin Catholic High School has an enrolment policy on the school website.  Offers of enrolment to students and parents are based on the following criteria:

  • Siblings of children currently attending BCHS
  • Children currently enrolled at a Catholic School
  • Catholic children currently enrolled at other schools
  • Evidence of commitment to the ethos and values of the school.  [Such evidence includes things as:  parents’ respect for or participation in religious practices;  parents’ willingness to be involved in the life of the school;  parents being past students of this or other Catholic schools;  older siblings having been enrolled in similar schools]
  • All other things being equal, students will be enrolled in order of application.
